How to play
Build the best possible high hand, low hand, or both
- Each player receives four private cards
- Five community cards are dealt:
- 3 on the flop
- 1 on the turn
- 1 on the river
- Players must use exactly two private cards and exactly three community cards
Core Rules
The pot may be divided between two winning hands
The best high hand wins half the pot using standard poker rankings
The best qualifying low hand wins the other half
A qualifying low hand must contain five different ranks, all 8 or lower
Aces count as low for low hands
If no low qualifies, the high hand wins the entire pot (scoop)
STRATEGY & PLAY STYLE
Omaha Hi/Lo rewards structured, disciplined play
Players often aim to “scoop” both halves of the pot
Hand selection is more critical than aggression
Nut potential and board awareness are key
Bluffing exists, but is more situational than in Hold’em
